My preparations for Sziget 2017

Yes, you’re reading this right, I am going to the Sziget festival! Every year I go on a holiday with friends and this year we’re going to Budapest because we wanted to go to the Sziget festival together. I am so excited, oh my. But today I don’t want to share about the festival itself, I want to share my preparations for Sziget 2017.

Documentary: Before The Flood

A good documentary, including Leonardo Dicaprio, what else can we want? Nothing. And so I’m writing about it today. Before The Flood is a documentary about climate change. It was released in 2016. If you haven’t seen it yet, I suggest you should. It is chocking, but extremely important.

No Impact Man by Colin Beavan

Today I’m sharing a must watch and a must read all at once. It’s about Coling Beavan and his family. That’s because Beavan names himself the No Impact Man. As Beavan mentions, his family and him used to be like most other American families. They barely cook their own food, don’t own a bike and work a whole lot to name a few things. But then they go on a journey! The journey to becoming a No Impact Man (or family really). Beavan doesn’t want to have a negative impact on the planet anymore (what I’d call an eco-positive lifestyle). The book and documentary I’m sharing today are about this journey towards that goal. Here’s No Impact Man by Colin Beavan.

Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer

Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer is an elucidation. And I barely ever read those. Not since those were mandatory in high school. The ones I read then were extremely boring. But Eating Animals is not boring at all. In fact, I think it’s the best book I’ve read about this subject so far. And that’s why I am sharing it today!

Weekly diary #2

In my first weekly diary I told you that there will be a weekly diary online every Thursday. Maybe you’ve noticed, but the past two weeks there hasn’t appeared one. That’s because I was on a holiday to Gran Canaria (and I wrote a confession about it too). Sun, sea and fun! But I’m back now! Here’s weekly diary #2.

Zero Waste Clingfilm

Clingfilm, one of the most popular items (popular makes it even sound like a wonderful thing haha) within the category of disposable products. It doesn’t align with a zero waste lifestyle at all. The idea of clingfilm is quite brilliant. If you have food leftovers, you don’t have to throw it away, you can eat it another time! The idea is brilliant, yes, the execution not so much. For every bit of food waste you save, you make plastic waste. Today I want to talk about the zero waste clingfilm!

Secondhand Clothing App: Vinted

I hope you’ve noticed: I avoid buying new stuff and clothes. That’s because buying secondhand is the most sustainable option. Whenever I need something I usually buy it secondhand (or I lend it). Besides that it’s sustainable because there’s no new production, it also saves a lot of waste. That’s because you’re basically buying someone else’s waste. Today I want to share an app which is great for buying and selling secondhand clothing: Vinted.
