How to go vegan

How do you switch to a vegan/plant-based diet? This is a question I get asked a lot in real life and when recently someone asked me I realized: I’ve never written anything about this. That’s a sin, because such a post would be so convenient to refer these people to. This way I provide a detailled overview. So today it is finally a here: a guide on how to go vegan*.

How to get rid of clothes in a responsible way

I am on a journey to my ultimate capsule wardrobe. A capsule wardrobe can have many forms and has a different meaning to different people. To me it is a small wardrobe with items that I love and can all match. It is an ongoing journey. And so I buy things, but also get rid of things. When a piece of clothing does not serve me any longer, I want to get rid of it in a responsible way. But how do I do that?

A guide on how to ditch the plane

This time of the year people are starting to plan their summer holidays again. Yet, flying has been under a lot of attention the last couple of years. It’s a way of travelling that is so environmentally destructive, it’s insane. Flying is very harmful in the climate change crisis, but there’s one aspect of it that makes it a hard subject: it’s non-replaceable. For all the transportation means, there are sustainable alternatives. We have electric cars, busses and trains. We don’t have electrical planes. That’s why I swore off the plane for now. It’s just not sustainable. How I live without flying? Here’s my approach.

How to buy sustainable in 6 steps (The Buyerarchy of Needs)

I’ve written guides before on this blog. Here you can read how to make sustainable food choices and I’ve also written an article on buying sustainable clothing. Yet, these are just two categories of everything you can buy. Yes, they are the most important in my life, the two things I buy the most. But I think there is more to consider than just food and clothes. And so today, I’ve come to share the Buyarchy of Needs from Sarah Lazarovic for when you buy just about anything.

How to make sustainable food choices in 5 steps

Last week I published a guide on how to buy sustainable clothing. Clothes are not something you buy weekly, at least, I hope not. But there’s something I do buy every week. And that is food. Food is something we all need and so we can reduce a huge part of our negative impact on the planet in that category. It can be difficult too, making sustainable food choices. But it does not have to be! Today I’ll share how to make sustainable food choices.

How to buy sustainable clothing in 4 steps

On this blog I’ve shared a bunch of posts about clothing I bought. Sometimes new clothing, like when I bought underwear or tights. But mostly secondhand, such as this jeans I bought or this swimsuit. In each post I explain the choices I make, but I realized I never really wrote a guide on how to buy sustainable clothes. So, here it is today!

The 5R’s of zero waste

I’ve been blogging on here for a while now, I think it’s been about three years. The starting point of this whole green and eco-positive lifestyle has been a zero waste lifestyle. It’s the thing I started blogging about at first, but over the years it has evolved into a whole different lifestyle. But, a zero waste lifestyle is still very important to me, as I thrive to live zero waste and spread this message. Recently I did a lecture about a zero waste lifestyle at my local library, talking about the base of a zero waste lifestyle. While I did that, I realized I had never talked about it on here. So, today I want to tell you more about the philosophy of zero waste, the 5R’s.
