When I calculated my impact last year, I knew something had to change. I was doing quite well, because I live vegan and buy most of my stuff secondhand, but flying seemed to be a major issue. I could fly and still have the amount of eco-points to live a sustainable life. But, I want to live as sustainable as I can, so that means the less negative impact, the better. So, I decided to quit flying by plane! But, I am going on a holiday this year! By train. Today I’ll tell you how. Continue reading “Sustainable travel: Going to Albufeira by train!”
Category: Sustainable Traveling
Traveling is a part of most people’s live these days. Everybody wants to discover different places of the world and I understand that. And so, this category is here to show you how you can still travel, but in a sustainable way.
I went flying for the very last time
Yes, you’re reading that title all right. I went flying, on a plane. Since I figured this’ll come across as very weird, why Romee?!, since it is far from sustainable, I want to dedicate a full blogpost to it today. I preach it all the time: flying is bad for the environment. I even wrote a full blogpost about it a long time ago. And now, I took two flights, one from Amsterdam to Tenerife and one back. Why the heck did I do this? Should I not practice what I preach? Continue reading “I went flying for the very last time”
The best and most sustainable hotspots in Prague
It’s time for another hotspot! A city I visited and fell in love with: Prague! I travel a lot, right? Yes, I am very spoiled. But I’m trying to do it more sustainable and less too. I’ve been to Prague for 5 days in total and it was 30 degrees Celsius every day. However, we did see a lot of places (besides the pool haha)! Prague is an absolute hotspot!

Maybe you’ve read this in my past weekly diary. I’ve gone on a holiday to Ameland for a week! I had loads of fun! Ameland really provided us with everything we wanted. Fun, good weather and good food. And so, I am sharing this hotspot with you today. This place is amazing, especially if you’re looking for a sustainable holiday destination!

Past week I’ve been to the city of love, Paris. It were the four most amazing days. Paris is definitely a hotspot and it close by the Netherlands. I have to say: four days were not enough. A month might not even be enough! But right now a month off doesn’t fit in my agenda haha! But I can say that I want to visit it again someday. And so this blogpost is never finished. Every time I discover something new the list will be extended. For now: my favorite hotspots in Paris!

A while ago I mentioned in one of my weekly diaries that I wanted to start a new category on this blog. Today I am actually doing that! This is the new category: hotspots. I want to share the sustainable hotspots with you from everywhere I’ve been. Or just the other non-sustainable hotspots I’ve been to as well, to tell you about it (since I can’t always go to sustainable places only). I’m planning on sharing only the positive/sustainable hotspots. The things I don’t like won’t be included. This way you can read these posts and know where to go. So I present to you today: the first hotspot: Budapest!
Continue reading “Hotspot: Budapest”My evaluation of the Sziget Festival
Right now, I am already back in The Netherlands for over a week. Before that, I was in Budapest for 10 days, of which I spend 7 days at the Sziget Festival. Here you can read how I prepared myself for it, to attend in the most sustainable way I could. Today I want to share my evaluation. How sustainable was this holiday of mine eventually?

Yes, you’re reading this right, I am going to the Sziget festival! Every year I go on a holiday with friends and this year we’re going to Budapest because we wanted to go to the Sziget festival together. I am so excited, oh my. But today I don’t want to share about the festival itself, I want to share my preparations.

Today it’s time to share a confession, one you’re not going to like. Because today I’m sharing about flying. The past years I have flown a lot. At least once a year, sometimes more. This in not sustainable at all. And even though I try to do better, I am going on holiday by plane again soon. I want to share this, because this sustainability journey is a proces for me too.
