My Experiences with Getting Off The Birth Control Pill

Posted on August 8, 2022August 6, 2022

About 11 years ago, when I was about 12 years old, I started taking the birth control pill. My doctor recommended it to me and my mom, while we were at her practice. She recommended it because I had quite severe acne and that made me very unhappy. After some years the acne went away…

News & Personal Impact | July 2022

Posted on August 4, 2022January 24, 2023

Mainstream news in The Netherlands is depressing. It has to be shocking, sensational and topical. This way news gets negative and people feel like the world around them is changing for the worse. They lose trust and feel powerless. Yet, sciences proves it over and over again: the world is getting better every day for humans….

The 9 Planetary Boundaries

Posted on August 1, 2022January 21, 2023

The past 3 years I have followed a pre-master in Earth and Economy and a master in Environment and Resource Management. And up until now, I mostly wrote about sustainability and an eco-positive lifestyle in the personal sphere, as I believe that we all have a share making the earth a happy place for everybody….

Life Update: I got my Master of Science!

Posted on July 25, 2022July 22, 2022

This past February I started my thesis. I was very nervous about it, because when I wrote my thesis for my bachelor Facility Management I failed the first attempt. This time it went very smooth, a little too smooth sometimes, because that’s what I experienced during my bachelor too. So I got worried. But on…

Secondhand Clothing Inspiration

Posted on July 18, 2022July 17, 2022

It’s been only a month since I shared a blogpost with the secondhand clothing I have bought the past months/year. I am sharing one again today because I’m behind a lot. But after this, I’m back on track. My goal is to share these posts once a year. I am not there yet, but maybe…

Why neoliberalism does not work

Posted on July 11, 2022January 22, 2023

Neoliberalism, also called free-market capitalism. Ever since communism has fallen in the 80s and 90s, there has been only capitalism. It has caused a lot of problems, but it has also done some good things for humanity. I don’t know whether I am against capitalism or neoliberalism (yet), since I don’t know much about the…

7 Charities to Support People

Posted on June 27, 2022January 21, 2023

7 Charities to Support Nature

Posted on June 20, 2022January 20, 2023

Donating money to charities is something I think everybody who has the resources should do. For me personally, I live at least eco-neutral, meaning that I live within the boundaries of the planet. However, eco-neutral is only the base**. I want to live eco-positive. I want to actually contribute something to make this world a…

ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Romee Hoeksma and I am on a journey to an eco-positive life. An eco-positive lifestyle is a lifestyle in which I have a more positive than negative impact on the beautiful planet earth. On this blog you can follow my journey to a life with only positive impact. At this blog you can find all sorts of things, from tips to recipes to personal experiences, but most of all fun (I hope!). I write about how I want to change the world, but don’t look at it as if I’m judging you. If anything, I like responses from my dear readers the most, so don’t hesitate to contact me or respond to any of my posts!

Yours sincerely,
Romee
