I’ve noticed that a lot of people still struggle to make vegan recipes for dinner. Now that I have been vegan for more than 4 years, I find it hard to recognize this struggle. For me personally, making any recipe vegan is not hard at all. Also, after all this time I know where to find recipes that suit me best. However, vegan is not the norm. In The Netherlands, only 1% of the population is vegan. And so, it is important for me to help people make this transition. I want my blog to be like an encyclopedia for an eco-positive lifestyle. Basic Hummus Recipe

Bread. It’s a typical Dutch thing if you’d ask me. Dutch people eat a lot of bread. For breakfast, with lunch, inbetween. Weekdays, weekend days. Bread seems to be the basis of the Dutch diet. Add cow-cheese to it and there it is: your typical Dutch lunch. And so, since I’ve gone vegan I made some adjustments as to what I eat on my bread. One of them is hummus! Hummus is like the ultimate go-to for vegan sandwiches. If there’s a vegan option in a mainstream lunch cafe it’s hummus 99% of the time. It’s easy to make and can go with any bread. For breakfast, during lunch, on toast or even with dinner. And that’s why I am sharing the basic recipe for hummus that I use.

It’s May and that means summer is coming! Summer is my favorite season and after the past few weeks (it’s been up to 24 degrees Celcius here), I am excited for it! Snacking, I think it’s something we all do (even if you claim you don’t). I mean, who doesn’t love a sugary or salty (in my case) snack on a good movie night or get together with friends. Vegan ‘Tuna’ Salad Recipe

Now, this title might seem weird. A fake tuna salad? Why replicate tuna when I stopped eating it? Well, I have a lot of reasons to not eat meat or fish, which I will discuss below, but flavor isn’t one of them. Yes, I love the taste of fish too, I mean who doesn’t? But, for me it was not enough to still eat it. So, when I found out about this vegan ‘tuna’ salad recipe I was eager to try it. I absolutely love it and that’s why I want to share it with you today.
