Category: Intersectional Feminism

Unfortunately, there still is a lot of inequality in our societies today. On the base of gender, sex, sexuality, race, class, religion, disabilities, age, physical appearance and more. All those forms of discrimination fall play a role in intersectional feminism. In this category I try to share what I know about it and what we can do about the inequality that exists.

The relationship between fast fashion and feminism

Posted on July 26, 2021January 15, 2025

I think all people are secretly feminists. Feminists want equal rights for all genders. I mean, who doesn’t want equal rights for everybody? Some people think of something dirty when they hear the word feminist. I don’t understand this. And also, calling yourself a feminist is just the very beginning. It’s the first step and…

The Climate Crisis is an Equity Issue

Posted on March 15, 2021January 13, 2025

When I started this whole journey towards an eco-positive lifestyle, I started out with trying to live zero waste. I saw pictures of the polluted seas and read about the environment. I wanted to make the earth a better place by changing my behavior. And this aspect is something I also hear people talk about…

How to Vote as an Intersectional Feminist

Posted on February 15, 2021April 3, 2025

The elections for parliament in The Netherlands are coming up! On March 15,16 and 17 2021 Dutch people can vote. It’s a big deal since a lot needs to change. Policy needs to change. We face inequality, the climate crisis, a pandemic and more. But just as important: the people in parliament need to change…

Recognizing system change for self-love

Posted on November 23, 2020January 7, 2025

A while ago I wrote about how we need both system change and individual change if we want a sustainable future (or a future at all). It’s important to recognize that not everything is up to us individuals. But the past few months I realized that this isn’t just the case for sustainability. It’s the…

My personal opinion on human migration

Posted on September 28, 2020January 6, 2025

Migration. It’s a huuuuge topic in The Netherlands if we’re talking about politics and if you’d ask me: it always has been. In my personal experience The Netherlands is a hostile country, most people are not happy with new people coming in. Especially if they’re refugees, oh my. I feel like migration is a topic…

Intersectional Feminism

Posted on July 27, 2020January 6, 2025

It’s time for a new subject upon my blog! Yes, you read that right. Feminism! Now, don’t be scared. Feminists aren’t men-haters or any other ugly thing that’s being said about them. Feminism is important for everyone, really. I’ve been reading more about it lately and it almost feels stupid that I have missed this…

ABOUT ME

when a teen goes green

Hi! My name is Romee and I live an eco-positive life. An eco-positive lifestyle is a lifestyle with more positive than negative impact on beautiful planet earth. Compared to most people, I live extremely sustainable. I don’t fly, eat meat or animal products, buy only secondhand clothing, etc. On the other hand, I try to help others as much as I can by donating a big chunk of my income, donating plasma, donating poop (yes!), volunteering, etc. On this blog you can read all about my lifestyle with only positive impact. I also have a Dutch Youtube channel (@duurzaamleven) and Dutch Instagram (@duurzaamlevenro). If you have specific questions for me, feel free to ask me anything.

Yours sincerely,
Romee (she/her)
