Category: Circular Economy

I truly believe a circular economy is the future. An economy where we only buy and use the things we need and have no waste. No waste in any form, no emissions, no trash, no pollution, no useless jobs. We can all contribute to this new economy ourselves. In this category you can see how.

Eco-positive toilet paper: The Good Roll

Eco-positive toilet paper: The Good Roll

Posted on December 26, 2022January 22, 2023

The Good Roll is an eco-positive toilet paper brand. The product itself is the most sustainable toilet paper I could find on the market. And besides that, they use a part of their profit to make the world a better place. With half of the profits they built toilets for people in need. Being sustainable…

Why biomass is not a sustainable fuel

Posted on October 24, 2022January 22, 2023

This title that I wrote is pretty controversial, because it needs some nuance. And I’ll give that in a minute, I promise. But overall, I dare to say that my personal opinion on biomass is that it’s not a sustainable fuel. In my ideal world we’d need very little to no fuel created by biomass….

Since September I’ve been studying the premaster Environment and Resource Management. There, we’re studying world problems. Here on this blog I’ve talked about concrete actions to live more sustainable and compassionate. Eco-positive living, that’s what I call it. Yet, I’ve come to realize that I haven’t gone into the biggest issues just yet. From now…

Investing in solar panels: ZonnepanelenDelen

Posted on September 9, 2019July 6, 2023

Last week I published a post in which I calculated my negative impact on the planet and how many earths we would need if everybody lived like me, considering we only have one. The biggest category in this calculation is stuff. And a big part of that for me were solar panels I bought. In…

Sustainable Greeting cards

Posted on April 22, 2019July 6, 2023

Last week I told you more about the 5R’s of zero waste. The biggest part is to refuse things I said, single use things mainly. But what if there is an item that is zero waste and you just don’t want to refuse? It’s not impossible, it happens to me too. Today I want to…

Adopting Plants

Posted on November 26, 2018June 9, 2022

Over the years, my mindset has changed. I have become a minimalist. Consequently, I like to own less and care less about stuff. I feel like I am on that point already. But however, I bought some things for in my room! I adopted some plants! Today I want to tell you why, and how….

Today I want to share something about lending with you. About lending books! If you’re a reader (like me) this is almost a must when it comes to trying to living sustainable. Lending is the new buying! And it should be, because it is has many benefits! Not only for the environment, but for yourself…

Sustainable Sunscreen: Suntribe

Posted on September 3, 2018July 6, 2023

I’ve shared before which sunscreen I use. Today I’m sharing this again since I switched! I have shared another sunscreen once before, it was a good option back then. Right now it isn’t anymore and so I deleted that post. I’ve switched to Suntribe! Today I want to share with you why I switched to…

Recycling your smartphone: Stichting AAP

Posted on July 30, 2018July 6, 2023

Today I’d like to discuss a great way of recycling I’ve recently discovered. The recycling of phones. That’s because I recently bought a new phone and don’t want to hold on to the old one, it would be a waste of resources. There’s an option to recycle your old phone ánd have positive impact! I…

The Most Sustainable Phone: The Fairphone

Posted on June 4, 2018July 6, 2023

Yes people, the day has come. *Drums roll*. I have bought a new phone! New? Yes, entirely new. This is something that I almost never do since it’s not the most sustainable, zero waste or minimalistic option. Then why did I buy this new phone? That’s what I’ll be telling you today. Why did I…

ABOUT ME

when a teen goes green

Hi! My name is Romee Hoeksma and I am on a journey to an eco-positive life. An eco-positive lifestyle is a lifestyle in which I have a more positive than negative impact on the beautiful planet earth. On this blog you can follow my journey to a life with only positive impact. At this blog you can find all sorts of things, from tips to recipes to personal experiences, but most of all fun (I hope!). I write about how I want to change the world, but don’t look at it as if I’m judging you. If anything, I like responses from my dear readers the most, so don’t hesitate to contact me or respond to any of my posts!

Yours sincerely,
Romee
