It’s time for room tour part 2! Last week I shared part 1 of my room tour – the more minimalistic bedroom I have. You can read there why I have two bedrooms and so why this tour has two parts. Today I am sharing part 2, which is where I spend the most time….
Category: Minimalism
Minimalism is an essential part of living an eco-positive lifestyle. It might even be the most important part. Not buying new stuff and using what you already have. Buying new stuff is harmful to our planet. The less we need, the more sustainable we live. And if we then do need something, we lend it, repair the old, or buy something secondhand.
But I also think minimalism is good for our personal health. The less clutter in our lives, the less clutter in our minds. Simplicity can really give us freedom. Also, the less stuff we need, the less money we need, the less we need to work, the more freedom we have in general. In this category you can read all about minimalism.
Room tour – part 1
Today I want to do a bedroom tour! As the title says, part 1. Now that might make it seem that my bedroom is so big that I need a whole series of blogposts just to show you my room. But no, I don’t have a gigantic bedroom (at least for western measures). I am…
36 clothing items I got rid of
One of my long-term goals is to have a capsule wardrobe. A capsule wardrobe is minimalist wardrobe. Every person has a different meaning for it, some want a certain number of items, some want to wear everything which is in there. Since I work towards a minimal wardrobe, I am critical every day and get…
All the Cosmetics I Own as a Minimalist
So, I didn’t really know what to call this blogpost. Beauty products sound weird to me. Nobody needs special products to be beautiful I guess. Stuff can’t make you beautiful. Eventually I decided to call this category cosmetics. If you’d ask me if I’m a fan of cosmetics I’d answer no. But toothpaste and soap…
All the Make-up I Own as a Minimalist
I have been wanting to post about my make-up stash for a long time. However, I waited and waited. I wanted it to be perfect. I am slowly transitioning to a low waste and minimalistic make-up stash. And since it’s not perfect right now I didn’t post it. But I don’t think that’s completely fair….
Verlangen naar Minder by Jelle Derckx
Quick disclaimer: this is a Dutch book, so if you don’t speak Dutch it is kind of a no-go. But, a lot of people out here are Dutch and the book I am about to share is so good I had to share it. Today I’m sharing another book about minimalism. It’s a subject I…
Thrift haul from February 2019
As a person, the most sustainable thing you can do is stop buying new stuff. And since I’m trying to live as sustainable as I can, I took the pledge to not buy anything new. You can see how I did the past year in this blogpost. But, sometimes you do need things. I don’t think…
Everything I bought new in 2018
My first monday-post in 2019! Time to reflect a little. Not on personal goals, because I am not into that this year. But on sustainability goals! It’s about stuff, because buying new stuff in not sustainable and I’ve trying to avoid that the past year. But, how have I done? And have I bought many…
The Minimalists
If you follow my weekly diaries or know me well in real-life, you know that I try to possess as little stuff as possible. If I look back at the Romee from about 3 years ago my mindset has completely shifted. I was a hoarder, more stuff was better. Especially when something was offered to…
Experiences over stuff
When you create a WordPress account, they ask you to write a little bit about yourself. One of the things I wrote about myself is that I am a wannabe minimalist. Yes, an even more sustainable lifestyle! Life without trash, on my way to veganism, more volunteering, working on my carbon footprint and minimalism. Yes,…
