5 Things I No Longer Buy

People usually think my sustainable lifestyle is extremely expensive. They think of buying expensive eco-products when they think of a sustainable lifestyle. However, a sustainable lifestyle is usually about think you do not do. Stop buying new stuff, stop flying, stop eating meat, etc. I would argue my eco-positive lifestyle has saved me a lot of money. With that being said, today I am sharing 5 things I no longer buy due to this eco-positive lifestyle.

Everything I bought new in 2018

My first monday-post in 2019! Time to reflect a little. Not on personal goals, because I am not into that this year. But on sustainability goals! It’s about stuff, because buying new stuff in not sustainable and I’ve trying to avoid that the past year. But, how have I done? And have I bought many things new in all of 2018? The Minimalists

If you follow my weekly diaries or know me well in real-life, you know that I try to possess as little stuff as possible. If I look back at the Romee from about 3 years ago my mindset has completely shifted. I was a hoarder, more stuff was better. Especially when something was offered to me and it was cheap I immediately thought I needed it. I remember one day where I walked into a store, HEMA, and I only needed one thing. I thought it would be very weird to only buy one thing and so I picked two more useless items just so that I didn’t buy just one thing. It’s insane, I know. Luckily I’m not that same person anymore. Experiences over stuff

When you create a WordPress account, they ask you to write a little bit about yourself. One of the things I wrote about myself is that I am a wannabe minimalist. Yes, an even more sustainable lifestyle! Life without trash, on my way to veganism, more volunteering, working on my carbon footprint and minimalism. Yes, I’ve changed a lot since I started this blog. For me it all feels like personal progress. In my head most has changed, my mindset is different. And mindset is the thing I want to talk about today. Valuing experiences over stuff.
