The best vegan ice-cream, desserts and yoghurt

Posted on May 29, 2023January 23, 2025

I think this post will be the last one in the ‘best vegan product’-category. So far I wrote about the best vegan meat, fish, eggs & cheese, milk and butter. That covers just about everthing. Today I finish the series by writing about the best vegan ice-cream, yoghurt and desserts. But that does not mean I never change these posts anymore. These list are always evolving and I include or replace products when I find new ones. It’s supposed to be an ultimate guide for (new) vegans.

Here’s a list of – in my opinion – the best vegan ice-cream, desserts and yoghurt.

Ice-cream

Hertog – Vanilla vegan – 4,99 euros – 900 mililiters – Albert Heijn

Ben & Jerry’s – Cookies on cookie dough – 7,49 euros – 465 mililiters – Albert Heijn

Magnum – Vegan almond – 4,99 euros – 270 mililiters – Albert Heijn

Side note: I’ve been vegan for over 5 years now, and in the beginning I could only choose from sorbet ice-cream. Lemon or strawberry flavor for example. But I am personally a big fan of creamy ice. I am happy that they are finally here now.

Desserts

Lidl – Vemondo passion fruit and mango mousse – 1,85 euros – 140 grams – Lidl

Lidl – Vemondo vegan chocolate mousse – 1,85 euros – 140 grams – Lidl

Almhof – Plant-based chocolade mousse – 2,19 euros – 200 grams – Albert Heijn

Note: I personally rarely eat desserts, because I am more into starters and I don’t have such a sweet tooth. But I am sucker for mousse, especially chocolate mousse. So, that’s one of the few desserts I do buy sometimes. But you can easily make that yourself as well. Soon, I’ll post a vegan chocolate mousse recipe.

Yoghurt

In this category I am not going to list any products. That’s because I honestly only have one criteria: vegan yoghurt has to be sweetened. And if it’s possible I also like a flavor with it, instead of plain sweetened yoghurt. Vanilla or cherries for example. As long as it’s sweetened, anything is good.

Yours sincerely,
Romee

ABOUT ME

when a teen goes green

Hi! My name is Romee and I live an eco-positive life. An eco-positive lifestyle is a lifestyle with more positive than negative impact on beautiful planet earth. Compared to most people, I live extremely sustainable. I don’t fly, eat meat or animal products, buy only secondhand clothing, etc. On the other hand, I try to help others as much as I can by donating a big chunk of my income, donating plasma, donating poop (yes!), volunteering, etc. On this blog you can read all about my lifestyle with only positive impact. I also have a Dutch Youtube channel (@duurzaamleven) and Dutch Instagram (@duurzaamlevenro). If you have specific questions for me, feel free to ask me anything.

Yours sincerely,
Romee (she/her)
